Succesiful birding at the WWF 25th anniversary reception in Serebryany Bor park in Moscow

WWF Russia has celebrated it's 25th anniversary on the July 3 in Moscow's Serebryany Bor park where the " The ball on the grass" was held. Few hundreds of the WWF supporters have gathered on the shores of the Moscow river to share the festivity and to get aquainted to the nature conservation activities of the fund. 

                                       

Ecological Travel Center presented the award for the Charity lottery of  fund and involved guests to the birding lections and activity. 

Birding is not yet widespread in Russia but there were many guests interested in watching and learning about birds. Within an hour that was intended for the activities on the ball we could complete two groups, which went to the river shores and in the nearest forest despite hard rain and wind. Armed with binoculars they met 10 species of birds, among which are common and black-headed gulls, common sandpiper, mallard, rock dove, hooded crow, great tit, common chaffinch, jays and swifts.
All the participants were provided with check-lists with all possible bird in the ball area which they filled in during the excursions.

We have also participated in a "Wild reportage" - a serie of interviews from WWF team, and beauty blogger Sasha Sova have made an online stream from our stand in one of the social nets. 13 000 people watched her on-line and about 90 000 people have watched the video within 1 day after the ball.
