The Lost World of Dusse-Alin

Arrival to Khabarovsk in the morning. Meeting at the airport, transfer to the railway station. Train #663 to Chegdomin at 16:45.

Arrival to Chegdomin at 08:10 a.m. Meeting with the nature reserve staff. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation.
Instructions on security measures during the trip. Visit to the museum of the reserve. The museum has one of the best collections of local fauna representatives. Film and lecture about the reserve, the importance and the role of Khabarovsk region's protected areas.
Back to the hotel, free time.

05:00 a.m. Early trasnfer to the reserve. The trip takes about 8 - 9 hours. Free time, dinner.

The Lake Korbohon is the starting point of our trip. It is one of the deepest reservoirs in the Amur river basin and the biggest mountain lake of the Barguzinsky reserve.
The lake is situated 1160 m above sea level, it occupies a part of Korbokhon river valley from one slope to another.
Local people believe that the lake is more than 100 m deep and that there is trout in it. But according to the scientists there is no trout in the Amur river basin. The water of the lake seems to be black, that is why people think it is so deep. Indeed it is only 14 meters deep and the water is very clear and fresh.

Hiking along the trail we will visit Vodopadny (Waterfalls) spring. About seven km down the sping's head it passes though a narrow canyon and forms a cascade of waterfalls. The total height of waterfalls is 70 meters. Four waterfalls in the central part of the cascade are the highest, each one is about 7 - 8 meters high.
Visit to Gornoe lake will show you beatiful landscapes of the Far East as the lake's circus is one of the bigest and most picturesque in the area. The walls of the circus are rather steep, especially those looking to the South. Only sparse trees of stone birch and patches of motley grass grow in clefts.
Our water rout starts at the point of confluence of Kuraigagni to Levaya Burea. The river is not too easy for rafting but it flows in the middle of a picturesque valley surrounded by high mountains. Ocasionally you will see manchurian deer and reindeer crossing the river and brown bear on the river bank.
During the trip we will pass the spit where Pravaya (Right) and Levaya (Left) Burea meet. This river gives it's name to the region of the trip. From the first kilometers of confluence the river makes you respect it for it's beauty and unpredictability as Evenks do.

End of the rout. Transfer to Chegdomin. Accommodation at the hotel.
