Conference in Irkutsk

"Sustainable tourism in Baikal lake area - step into the future" conference is held in Irkutsk from 5 to 7 of December. It is dedicated to the 10-th anniversary of the UNESCO natural heritage status of the Baikal lake.

"Sustainable tourism in Baikal lake area - step into the future" conference is held in Irkutsk from 5 to 7 of December. It is dedicated to the 10-th anniversary of the UNESCO natural heritage status of the Baikal lake.

The conference "Lake Baikal - the 10-th anniversary of the UNESCO natural heritage status" has successfuly finished. The conference was organised by Baikal Wave with the support of Administration of Irkutsk Region.

During the conference the participants made their reports about scientific researches in Baikal, present and future ecological situation, ecotouristic potential and problems of tourism development in a whole. ETC  have made also their report about basement of successful development of sustainable tourism in Baikal region. 

Baikalo-Lensky Nature reserve the hero of the anniversary was awarded by honorary diplomas and awards for protection the nature.

There have been disscussed the main problems and difficulties of sustainable tourism development in Lake Baikal and have been suggested the possible ways of their decision. Every group has worked out initial projets for tourism situation in Lake Baikal. We hope that these projects will give the begining for the further successful elaborations to improve ecological situation and tourism.
