Ecotourism survey results

In 2009 Ecological Travel Center and the Institute of Geography conducted a survey on ecotourism preferences of Russian citizens. The target group included ETC clients, ecotravel.ru and eco-plan.ru sites visitors, wildlife photography exhibition visitors and tourism industry specialists.
According to the results of the poll tourism industry specialists travel two times a year (around Russia, for leisure), usually organize their trips by themselves and prefer travelling with families or friends (women also travel alone). In general the respondents think it necessary to cut down resources use and reduce waste during leisure trips. They are interested in trips of one or two weeks long that include many activities. It seems that the level of accommodation is not very important for our travelers and they prefer not expensive journeys.
